Q: Connecting  22" Cinema fitted with ADC to G5 with 9600XTGraphics ADC I/F

Hi folks. I'm a MAC novice in need of some guidance and help. I recently bought a G5 2.5 DP unit to run a CAD application. The G5 is fitted with a 9600XT graphics card which has both a DVI and ADV interface.

Separately I have acquired 2nd hand 22" Apple Cinema screen (the clear plastic case version) which has a ADC cable fitted, and no seperate power input.

I've connected the 2 ADC connectors (screen to Graphics Card)together but the screen remains lifeless. Should the ADC interface on the 9600XT Graphics card deliver power to drive the screen?

I have connected a smaller screen using a DVI to VGA adapter and the graphics card is working fine (well the DVI output does)

Should I be able to interwork the 22" Apple screen to the G5 via the ADC interface or do I need to get an Apple DVI To ADC Adapter A1006 with the seperate power feed?

Would appreciate help. Thanks Mark

    How?
Should I be able to interwork the 22" Apple screen to the G5 via the ADC interface

There is only one ADC on the card. It can run one ADC display.
do I need to get an Apple DVI To ADC Adapter A1006 with the seperate power feed?

Yes, if you have two ADC displays.
