Apple Wireless Keyboard typing rubbish

I bought the bluetooth Apple Wireless Keyboard 2 days ago and it worked perfectly on the first day. Today it started typing garbage all of a sudden and i cannot figure out why. Example of what its typing:

˙´¬¬ø ∑ø®¬∂

supposedly "hello world"

I checked if im updated and im on OS X Server 10.6.6 and no new updates found.

Other things i have tried is disabling my bluetooth mouse (razor pro click mobile) and going back to a RF mouse (logitech v450 nano), and currently typing on my logitech K340 keyboard.

Also tried turning off bluetooth and turning it back on. When i try this, the keyboard types correctly for about 10 characters then starts pumping out garbage again.

No idea what is going on, except perhaps the aluminium keyboard update is not part of the updates for the OSX Server version??

Might take my keyboard to work on monday to test it on my imac at work to see if its a faulty keyboard... other than that i cant think of anything else to try.

Any help appreciated.

Mac Mini Server 2010, Mac OS X (10.6.6)
