Ipod touch (4th gen) shuts off randomly

This happened about 5 times in the last 2 weeks. With plenty of battery life left the device just shuts off. Any thoughts as to what's going on? I've had it about 2 months.

This is happening to both my son's and daughter's iPod Touches (4th Gen). Both shut off at random with plenty of power left and will not turn back on unless you hold down both the power and home buttons for several seconds. Does anyone know what this is? Does anyone from Apple check these forums and respond? Both are running 4.2.1 firmware. I'm kind of surprised that this thread is almost a year old and there still isn't a resolution.

Not sure what I was looking at that made me think this issue was a year old. Sorry... Still, problem persists. A solution would be fantastic.

Mine does the same thing but i just updated to iOS 5, its done it quite a few times since the update, what is causing this problem? PLEASE HEP MY DAD IS GETTING IRRITATED!!!!!!!
