Q: Jam packs and additional content

So I'm completely new to Logic. The apple site says that logic 9 comes with six jam packs, but I only see 2 in the tab entitled "library." These are Jam Pack Voices and Jam Pack World Music. When I installed Logic, I used the option to install some of the material on my glyph drive (which I use for pro tools.) Only one of the additional contents could be installed (I believe it had like 22 gigs of material). Also, I looked at the additional content installed on my glyph drive and its all entitled "Apple loops for soundtrack pro." I'm assuming theres nothing in there for logic. I guess I'm trying to figure out why all the material wasn't installed. I did the full install and spent the hours it took to get it all on my drives. It asked me for all the dvds except one of them.

It may help to know that I bought logic pro from my computer store at my college. It is the 32 bit version.

For convenience....Ill list all the dvds it came with.

Logic Studio Install disk
Logic Studio Additional Content
Logic Studio Jam Pack Content 1
Logic Studio Jam Pack Content 2
Logic Studio Jam Pack Content 3
Audio Content 1
Audio Content 2
Audio Content 3
Logic Studio Demo Content (this was the one that wasn't installed as part of the full install)

Lastly, I dont think even the 2 I have installed have all the content

The Jam Pack Voices literally only has 3 folders in it called "Choir, Percussion, and Soloist"

The Jam Pack World Music has 8: "Bass, Choir, Drum Kits, Guitars, Mallets, Pianos and keyboards, Strings, and woodwinds"

I did a search in spotlight and it looks like it installed all of the packs, but only 2 (and maybe only part of those 2) actually show up in logic. Sorry about the excessive questions, this will be my last group of them:

Is there a way to import these packs located on my mac, but not in logic?
Is there an online list I can go through and double check to make sure everything else is correct?
When I initially installed it, it said that there was only 1 thing I could place on an external drive, but this thread says differently..http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1038...What all can be installed on the external drive?
Lastly, is there an efficient way to uninstall all of logic and reinstall it? I'm hoping logic remembers what I put where and can uninstall it in a smart way (leaving my sessions I've made since in contact until I can reinstall it).

Well, I'm in the middle of an install of Logic Studio 9. Received the new software in the mail yesterday. Wondering the same thing. I assigned all the optional content to my 1T external Glyph. I've just finished the third of the three jam pack dvd discs. The progress bar tells me these discs have been installing, however, the yellow activity light on the Glyph, which was actively blinking during the install of the 3 audio content discs, hasn't been blinking at all since the first of the jam pack discs.

Still looking in finder for any evidence of installed jam packs, but I don't know what I'm looking for.

Did you ever find out about the jam packs?!?!

I just received a brand new 2011 iMac a few weeks ago...and did a fresh install of the logic 9...SAME PROBLEM.  Only see 2 jam packs in my library even though I have all 6 installed on my external glyph.

    Anyone else have these problems?!?!?

I don't know about the problems during install, but of course you can link the files from the Finder to Logic. Just grab the folder containing all loops you want to import and drag&drop them onto the Loop Browser in Logic. Logic then indexes all loops, which will take some time (so go grab a cup of coffee). Now the Loop Browser should contain all material (the Loop Browser in Soundtrack Pro should as well).

    Hope this solves your problem
