I'm having the same problem =/ my ipod was working fine yesterday, until this morning when i tried turning it on. The display stays black but when i connected it to my computer, itunes recognized it and it also appeared in my computer, but that's it. No music no sound and no display. Can someone help?!?!?!?

I think I'm having same issue, i just got it couple days ago. So what it's doing, basicaly you use it and then you lock it and leave it for coupe minutes and then it will not turn on. If i connect it to USB screen comes up and it says "iPod Connected Eject before disconnecting.", but iTunes says "Waiting for iPod..." (PC) and never recognize the iPod, and if I diconnect it - iPod works again.

Also you need to use your original iPod nano USB cable to charge it. If anybody knows how to fix it, please let me know!

Apple please fix it with update if it's software issue.

Thanks!

SOLVED!!! It just wasn't charged!

Yes, i figured it out.

- Make sure you use original USB cable that came with iPod

- For some reasons my PC won't charge my iPod, so I used my wife's MacBook. I tried iPad wall charger and it also wouldn't charge, didn't try with iPhone charger. Good luck!

If the cable has nothing to do with it, whe do you see all this posts here? It won't charge on my pc, and I'm sure all my USB ports are fine (tested with my ext. HDD). You are right, these things are designed to work with both pc and Mac, but it looks like it's not working as it supposed to work with pc...

I had this problem just now! It was working fine, I left it plugged into my mac and left home. Came back and unplugged it accidentally from my mac without ejecting it. I plugged it back into the Mac and nothing. Its totally dead (even though I know it had full charge).

To fix this dead nano, plug it into a wall charger and held down the power and minus volume button for 10 seconds. Then it turned on !

(now i'm not sure if this will work being plugged in or out of a wall charger or even a computer charger, but thats the first thing I tried and its back on now fully charged as expected... try holding the power button and - minus volume button)
