Apps' logos/icons don't show

Apps' logos/icons don't show

I don't know why but suddenly some (almost all) of my apps' icons/logos don't show up (both ipod and itunes can't see the apps' logos). So instead of having a facebook logo for the facebook app, all I have is a white box/logo. My ipod has a lot of white boxes now. All the apps work fine, it's just that I can't get those apps' icons to show up.

(other than formatting my ipod) What should I do?

And welcome to Apple Discussions!

Have you tried a hard reset of the iPod yet? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together until you see the Apple logo appear.

Don't be afraid to try this more than once if necessary. Other than though, it may be necessary to restore the iPod via iTunes. You can always restore from your latest backup.

i ended up formatting it and used the backup data to restore my ipod back

I have been having this same problem for a while now it is very very frustrating.
Each time this happens I have to delete all apps off of my ipod then re-sync it. The problem is a lot of my apps have in app purchases and it takes forever to recover all the purchases. It seems now that after every time i fix the issue more apps just end up going "gray" the next time. HELP would be great
