1080p vs 1080i

Hi

I'm tryin to find a camera that can record in 60 fps, and it should cost under 10000 USD.
But I still can't understand the concrete difference between Interlaced and Progressive, and I've been readin forums all over the web and hope that you guys here can answer me.
I know that Interlaced is half a picture, and progressive is one whole picture. I know the theoretical difference.

I found a camera that records 60 fps in 1080i, but what's the difference between 60i and 60p when it's on the screen, in Final Cut, and on a theater screen?
And does 1080/60i mean 1080i with 60 fps?

ok, didn't know that cinema tools was made for that kind off stuff. I'm not so in to Cinema Tools so I'll have to look up some "how-to" on the web. Only did 30 fps conversion to 25 fps, which gave me a 80% slow-mo. With a plug-in for Canon 5D/7D called 5DtoFCP.

I didn't actually ask for a camera that can make 1080/60p, but if you guys do have any tips don't be afraid to let me know. Don't underestimate free knowlegde
