Why cant iTunes find my iPod?

Hiya,
My ipod was working fab, its brand new, got it for christmas, but for some reason now when i plug in my ipod, its not automatically detected on my iTunes so cant update my music as im not sure how i search for it?

Hope some one can help 😟

Okay well i have been through everything, and i completely wiped my ipods data and it stilll has this exact problem. dont know what to do!!!!!! 😕
