Deleted emails magically reappear?

Anyone know why emails I delete from the iPhone (3G) sometimes download again a few days later, requiring me to go back and delete them again? It's not a constant problem, but very annoying when it happens. I use a POP account with Comcast. Any help is appreciated!

iMac G5, Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Select your Account>Advanced>Deleted Messages>Remove...what have you selected?

I am having the same problem. I have 5 accounts. The Yahoo account - in which the deleted emails reappear immediately - I have selected "delete after 1 week."

Another glitch at the same time… when I go to the mail screen to choose which email account to view, it automatically goes to my google account (top one on the list) without me selecting an account.

I have had this set up this way since I got my IPhone 4 last year and never had this happen before, and I don't think anything changed on my end.

Sometimes the emails delete and reappear in the other accounts too. I have reset the phone, checked and unchecked trash in the advanced settings. Not sure what else to try.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I had "after one week" selected. Changed it to "after one day" last week but still had about a weeks' worth of old emails reappear just yesterday. Wish there was at least a "select all, delete" feature! (if there is, I'm all ears, I haven't found one)
