Camera connector to load photos on iPad - will they display camera RAW file

If I use the camera connector to load photos to an iPad, will files in camera RAW format (Nikon .NEF) display?

When you import an image, may it be RAW or JPG it will create an optimized JPG version that it will display in the Photos app. When you sync to the computer it will copy the real RAW or JPG images over instead. This preserves EXIF data of the images as well. Some apps allow you to access the full sized RAW or JPG to upload or edit. One that I know works is FTP-on-the-Go, it will allow you to view and upload the full sized images to an FTP server and preserve the EXIF data there as well.

Mine easily downlaods the raw files (nikon NEFs) onto the iPad but once sycned to the computer they are small (<2meg) jpegs. I can't find any trace of my RAWs. I've looked through all the usualy places you'd expect them to be once synced. It's as if its stripped the jped out of the RAW and not imporrted it. Anyone come across this before?
