also, can someone explain how to synch the iOS albums such as "Camera Roll", "Last Import", "All Imported" with iTunes so I can manage these pictures.  I recently purchased the Camera Connection adapter and imported several hundred pictures to my iPad2 that are sitting in one big album.... I like to have them in specific folders... if this is not possible, what a waste of $$$   Thank you

You copy those photos to your computer outside of iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083

Doesn't loook to be a way.....for whatever reason Apple is not competent enough to do a simple file transfer. And it's not about not being able to get everything for everyone out the door. It's been 3/4 of a decade now. I think it's about time.

It's one of the things that makes it so you can't get away from just using mobile devices. You have to have a PC. Meanwhile, Android fan boys get to move their files around.

Come on, this feature should come way before graphic redesigns of iTunes.

Well gee, way to go sir...

You complained about me commented on a 22 month old post.  But it is still a 66 month old problem.

So when Apple fixes it, we'll quit complaining...

Odd. I've NEVER synched my iPad third gen to a computer and have absolutely no trouble getting files on and off it and into what ever container I need them to be in. Including moving photos from one album to another.

If there is something in partucular you are trying to do, post your issue. Someone might be able to help. Otherwise, you're just blowin' smoke.

Hi. I've come up with exactly the same problem that the original poster was having. I've got a couple of albums and I just edited a photo in one of them to remove red eye. All good so far. But when I wanted to save it, it got saved to the camera roll rather than back in to the album that I was in. So now I want to move that back in to the original album but I can't find any option other than to copy it to a new album. I just don't understand why I need to connect my ipad to a computer to allow me to perform this very simple function. Am I missing something?

    Cheers

    David

I'm having the same issue. I'm trying to move pictures from the camera roll to the photo stream and can't find a way to accomplish this. I was able to actually e-mail myself one of the pictures to my icloud e-mail address and get the picture to the photo stream that way, but that sure is a long path for a short trip. Does anyone have another solution to this problem?

You cannot move them from the camera roll to Photo Stream.
You can add them to Photo Stream but they will stay in the Camera Roll.

When you take a photo, it goes to Photo Stream (if it is enabled).

If you are on iOS 6, you can use a Shared Photo Stream...

But what if I don't want to share the photos? And how do I get these photos to my desktop without having to e-mail them? They sure make this difficult!

"But what if I don't want to share the photos?"

    ???

That is what Photo Stream does.

Just share them with only you.

"And how do I get these photos to my desktop without having to e-mail them?"

Plug your iPad into your computer and open your photo app.
