Recording lag... not a latency issue

Well, I am using an iMac 2.4 dual, 4gb RAM, Logic Pro 9.1.3 with an Axiom Pro 49, and Native Instruments Komplete 7.
I recently switched from the firewire Apogee Duet to the USB NI Audio Kontrol 1 (I dont know why...) I never had any issues until I switched to the AK1.

Since then, I get bad lag for about the first 8 measures when I record. It is not a midi latency issue with pressing a key or lagging note-to-sound issue with the Axiom keyboard, NI Mashine, or any other controller. It is a lag of midi notes that get recorded.
I get the same lag with Garageband, and get the same lag with the Guitar Rig Kontroller as an audio interface as well. However, when I use the regular factory Mac in/out (no audio interface), I get no lag.

So, this is what happens... I load up a simple plugin like ES1 or an apple drum kit. I hit record with a two measure lead in, and a metronome poly-click. First thing you notice is that the metronome click and the position bar are not on track. The click sound and the position bar are not in sync, regardless of using speakers or headphones.

Okay, I hit record and when it gets to measure one, I record just straight 1/4 note bass drum notes along with the metronome click for 8 measures, on time. When I hit stop, I look at the piano roll and the notes are not even close to being on time, they are all off like a dotted quarter note or some thing, and not quarter notes as I recorded it... however, it progressively gets closer to syncing up as I get around measure 8-9. So it basically lags for about 8 measures, regardless of tempo, like a bad DJ trying to match beats

I get the same result, regardless of plugin, or sound. I also get the same result after messing with every setting in Preferences... I/O Buffer Size (every setting), low latency mode ALL, midi delay, recording delay... same result..lagging midi notes.

I also shut off the metronome, loaded an apple loop to use as a time keeper, and the recording lag still occurs. I even tried recording after measure 9, while letting the first 8 empty, and it still lags.

Can anyone please help me... I am going absolutely bananas!

you know....it really hurts to have a great feeling take

only to have the computer do its interpretation of what you just did.

I think im gonna read up on optimizing my system or something because
i know that logic timing is better than this...my old logic was precise
as far as midi is concerned the higher the version goes the lag/timing
issues occur.

Feel is everything.

Hate to have to sit there & quantize or 1/192 delay to mimic that feel.

Only complaint i have with logic and im looking into seeing if this
is related to my system.

Just got a brand new Yamaha MO8 : )

ANY tips let me know.

I am having exactly the same issue. When recording quarter notes at 120, logic starts out notating them a little more than a 16th too late. After four measures they are in sync. I have an Audio Kontrol 1 as well. It's hard to believe that is the problem because the Remote 37SL is plugged into a different USB port. I am not using the Midi capabilities of the Audio Kontrol at all. If anyone finds a solution, please post.
