If you have an HP printer, they provide apps that can scan to the iPad.

Or is there an app that a can work with the scanner?
It depends on your printer and how it works with other devices.
I have a Canon airprinter, all-in-one. It scans to the "cloud" or email, which I can access on my iPad and open in an app that will save the scanned pages.
You should look to your printer's manual for how this works from the printer.
You can use a HP 3-in-1 printer to print, scan, copy and capture to the iPad via AirPrint.

You use the HP Printer Control App.

Crazy, I am repling to a 2 year old post. I am getting old.
So glad you had a senior moment. You solved my problem perfectly. Thanks.
Thank you, this was super helpful. I got the app and it worked great. I scanned like 20 pages and it made it into a PDF and I was done in 10 minutes or less. You really saved me.
Thanks again.
