If i have a printer that my iPad can print from, can I scan a paper on the scanner, and upload it to my iPad?

If you have an HP printer, they provide apps that can scan to the iPad.

Without a 3rd party app you can not scan and upload to the iPad. There are other ways to put documents on the iPad that are on your computer. Depending upon the document type, you can import it to the iPad through file sharing as long as the iPad app supports file sharing. You have to sync to your iTunes library to accomplish this.

If you have a Word document for example, you can share the file that you create on your computer - on the iPad - with a program such as Apple's Pages app. If you scan a document and create a PDF, you can email it to yourself as well and open it that way. There are a number of ways to put computer documents on the iPad.

There other apps that you may find to be helpful for your purposes in the app store. GoodReader and Save2pdf are worth a look.

You can scan through this for all sorts of useful information about the iPad in general.

You can not scan documents directly to the iPad, but you can scan documents using your scanner, save it as a PDF file and upload it to an intermediatery like EverNote 4 and then have EverNote 4 for your iPad to download those scanned documents. Then you can save them in the iPad for use. I use my iPhone to scan documents using an app called Jot Not, but the principle is the same.
