I bought my nano week ago. Everything worked fine until updating it to 1.1 version. Now every time i turn off the screen, the currently played songed is paused.
Anyone got similar problem? Any ideas to deal with it?
Well, I know that the nano does not save changes you make (at least some changes anyway) immediately.
If you make the changes you are talking about and then go play a music track for instance, THEN hold down volume down and sleep to restart the nano, it should remember your changes. I just tried it and that is what it did for me.
Okay, changed the wallpaper and changed Shuffle Photos to "on". Left everything else as is. Played two songs and then did the restart deal. Both returned to their prior settings. Repeated the test with the same results. Hmmm... Ideas?
Thanks so much~/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png I had never plugged the headphones in all the way/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png I also was unhappy with the headphones because they were so loose....duh/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png They weren't in all the way....your description was super helpful though...thanks again, I was so frustrated 🙂
Thanks for this...it fixed my problem. I just turned on double click to 'play-pause' and then when display turns off and music stops, I double click the play-pause button and the music starts again. Not ideal but good enough until Apple fixes it.
Not really happy that I had to spend 2 hours trying to figure out why it wouldn't work with my car stereo when my old shuffle worked fine. The whole point of paying a premium for apple products is that "It just works." right? 🙂
Is the 'Shake to Shuffle' turned on? That could be the problem, you might want to turn that off. Mine doesn't stop due to movement. So, yours might be defected.
I posted to this thread early on... learned that using earbuds TOTALLY "clicked" and appropriately pushed in cured the situation. I had not attempted this "fix"
on my little speakers - until yesterday. Guess What.. pushing in the entire way
until it "clicked" 2xs and was securely in place cured the speaker situation as well. I changed no settings at all. Do try the suggestion - It works for me.
Thanks to Ipod Whisperer for your information and help!
Okay so I was reading all your posts telling myself that the earphone thing is impossible: I had pushed the apple earphones the hardest possible into the ipod. Then I removed the slip from the earphones and it worked! HORAY! Remove the plastic from around your earphones and it'll work. Thanks for all your answers everyone
I have also iPod nano 6th generation, after using 2 months, it began to close/pause after playing only one minute. But it works when connected to my Laptop.
I could not find my invoice. What can I do now?
Thanks in advance.

Having spent more than a month trying all the hints on this forum, I must sadly add a note. Like many others after 1.1 update my Nano 6th stopped working properly. It just stops playing after half a minute. I tried about 10 different headsets pushing them as hard as my fingers could. I reseted and restored the player many times. I even tried cutting a bit of plastic off the headphones so that it could go further into the Nano. Nothing worked. Having been a professional hardware tester for 15 years now, I think I know how to get things workung, but with this update Im helpless. I went to Apple distributor and he promised to fix the problem with fooling the Nano to upgrade to the older firmware version. Sorry that Apple could not provide users with a) a possibility to downgrade firware at ones leasure or b) working fix of 1.1 update more than a month after publishing a faulty one.
