iTunes U says I can't publish because there are 0 items in collections

So my RSS feeds in iTunes U all have items in them, but the collections I've set up all return 0. I've clicked 'update collection' several times, but without any luck. I am using RSS feeds from YouTube playlists, could this be the problem?

I have not come across the playlist to RSS feature in YouTube. iTunes U requires some specific RSS extensions and video files available as downloads in an RSS item enclosure and in one of anumber of specific video formats. I suspect this may be the problem i.e the YouTube RSS might link to a YouTube page as opposed to a video download formatted for iTunes so it says 0 items because there are no enclosures.

It's impossible to give an answer without seeing an example RSS feed. Can you supply a link to an example feed.
