IPOD in loop - will not shut down

Ipod will not shut down. After doing the red bar, it stays with a revolving timer going. Will not connect to itunes.

- Have you tried resetting it:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- Next would be to try placing it in recovery mode and restoring it. For recovery mode see:

That doesn't do anything... just keeps turning and turning on theloop acting as if it will eventually shut down.

I'd just let the battery run out and then connect it to iTunes.
See if that fixes it. If not, restore it.
