T-Mobile and MMS

I have a factory unlocked iphone 4 on IOS 4.2.1. I'm using it on T-Mobile in the US. Edge data is fine for what I use the phone for but I'd really like to get MMS working properly. I can send MMS to myself and it works fine (but what good is that?). I can send MMS to others but I can't receive MMS from others. I get the message that "the media content was not included due to a picture resolution or message size restriction" I have the correct APN settings for T-Mobile. I know there is a fix for this but I don't want to jailbreak the phone. There has to be a conflict with the internal carrier settings file that won't let it work correctly. The Cydia fix works by overwriting this file with the correct settings (my friend's iphone 4 on T-Mo works fine) but I don't want to jb. Has someone found a way to get MMS working correctly on T-Mobile without jb? Maybe by using the Iphone Config Utility or some other approved method? I know Itunes can download carrier setting updates based on the carrier of the sim (if supported). Why won't it work right if I set the APN manually through settings, general, network, cell data network? You'd think SOMEONE has to have made this work without jb. The factory unlocked iphone is supposed to be an international phone that can use other GSM carriers. Can anyone help?

I'm in the same situation. I just bought an unlocked iPhone from Canada.
I called t-mobile, and they gave me the settings to use MMS, but it seems that I can't receive MMS messages from other people, only myself.

I'm really searching for the fix to this, because I think in order to activate Facetime, Apple needs to send an MMS to your phone, and it's not arriving.

I don't want to jailbreak my phone either!

The MMS Settings that T-Mobile provided me were:

Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network >

MMS
APN: epc.tmobile.com
Username: Blank
Password: Blank
MMSC: mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
Everything else blank.

I've searched online and tried a bunch of iterations of these settings with no luck.

If anyone can help with our bind it would be greatly appreciated!

Did you find your answer? I just bought my unlocked Iphone 4S on 9 Nov 2011 and I am using tmobile service and I was having the exact same issues. I searched the internet until I found what to do and I am up and running. Today is 21 Nov 2011. I tested it after I fixed it and I was able to send/receive MMS text from people on different networks such as Sprint, AT&T, and Verizon.

@DeeDay01 - what was the solution? I've had a factory unlocked iPhone4, IOS 5.01 on Tmobile network for a few months and haven't been able to receive MMS from anyone that does not have an iPhone. I also do not want to JB my phone since it is factory unlocked and want to be able to get IOS updates. Facetime was not working originally until i upgraded to IOS 5.0 then it began working on it's own, unfortunately I still can't receive MMS from non-iPhone users.

Please help!

If you have trouble opening this link just Google (T Mobile Support Community: MMS factory unlocked Iphone 4s???

After you get to this discussion/forum. Scroll down until you find username: (Scullen) post. It really did work and I have been receiving MMS from anybody with a different carrier. And I am not that computer savvy so, if I can do it, I'm sure other people can to.

Please let me know if you fix your problem and if this helped you.
