Buddies showing offline

Hi,

I have a 10.5.8 server running iChat, I have configured in the roster.xml a list of users, so that any new user that signs into chat gets that list of users added to there buddy list. But the users on the list do not show up as being on-line, when they really are on-line and can send an receive chat messages, any ideas.
