Screen technology - is it IPS?

I've just been looking at the new MacBook pro as I'm after a good quality display in a portable device.

The technical specifications on the Apple web site are somewhat sparse, and they seem unwilling to lower themselves to communicate with the plebs, so I was wondering if anyone knows whether the screen is ips?

I know the iPad is, but it's not much use for anything else I do.

Unless you see it listed as a feature, assume no. IPS is much more expensive than TN which is what you can expect in these new macbook pros.

I was really hoping for IPS, but sadly it seems to not be so. For the iMac and iPad, the technical specs clearly state they use IPS technology. For the new MacBook Pro, there's no mention of it. It's such a rare feature in laptops (I only know of one ThinkPad that had it), I'm sure they would boast about it.
