Q: Select access to certain asset metadata sets for external user groups
It has supposedly been done before but nobody posted how: We have two custom metadata groups in our assets. One of them contains our essential metadata and should be accessible for all users. The second contains response subscriptions that trigger massive transcodings and therefore should only be visible/editable for admins.
So far, the only way for us to show our metadata groups in the asset window is to link them with the media asset set. Since the permission set traits can only switch visibility/editablity per set, external usergroups can either see and edit all or none.
For some reason, we are unable to link our second group as set into a sinlge logic unit of the main asset window (listed with all the other metadata groups), which would be a prerequisite to switch it off by permission traits. What are we doing wrong? BTW, we didn't forget to log out and re-login...
Thanks for your support!
