Lacie D2 Drive - Blue LED

Just wondering if the disc powers down when the iMac goes to sleep.

The Blue LED stays on all the time & the disc is so quiet I cant tell if its spinning or not.

My other HDD LED go off when the disc is asleep.

I could not find anything in the manual or on the net

Well, I checked my manual and found this under the last troubleshooting tips:

+The drive turns on and off when you turn your computer on and off (USB and FireWire connections).+
+This is normal. Your drive has an autoswitching power feature, which means that if your drive is connect- ed to your computer, turning the computer on will automatically turn the drive on. Likewise, turning the computer off will automatically turn the drive off. If you wish to power off the drive while it is connected to your computer, first make sure that your computer is not accessing the drive and then follow the steps in section 2.5. Disconnecting Your LaCie Hard Disk. After you have disconnected the drive, flip the On/Off/ Auto button on the back of the drive to turn the drive off.+

This sounds as though it should turn off (which, to me, means the light should go off). Unfortunately, I can't speak from experience because I do not have mine plugged in 24/7 (only when I need them), so I'd suggest you contact LaCie support. There maybe in glitch in the drive and/or they may have an idea on how to fix it.
