How to click and drag

Just got the track pad...other than assigning three fingers to drag, how exactly can I set this up to use my thumb and find to drag? That is click with the thumb, hold it down, and swipe with another finger to drag. Can't quite figure that out.

tokyofan,

A couple of options here. The trackpad has a physical click with the thumb by pressing down on the left front portion of the pad. So you can use your thumb to physical click and finger to drag an item.

Also you can change the 3 finger drag to 3 finger swipe to navigate which will allow you to choose the 1 finger drag method. That method is shown in the preferences video.

oh, forgot to mention I was looking for a way to do this without manually clicking the mouse.
How does the 1-finger drag option work? Thanks!

I wasn't referring to clicking a mouse, was referring to clicking the Trackpad. So maybe that was a typo?

If you go to System Preferences > Trackpad > place the cursor over 1 finger dragging, it will show a video of the gesture in the window. Basically it's a double tap of 1 finger without lifting on the second tap. Then you can drag content with that 1 finger that's still down.
