Welcome back to the forums. I'm sorry to hear about your trouble with your computer.
Have you tried a
SafeBoot? If you boot into SafeMode the login screen should display in big red letters "safe mode." after booting into safemode restart the computer and try logging in again. Booting into safe mode tells your computer to fix a bunch of stuff; it can fix some login issues.
If you still can not login you could try
resetting your account password (see Resetting the original administrator account password).
If you still can't login after resetting your account password, or when you try to reset the password your account is not listed, you could reset the account password for user 'root.' After reseting root's password, you should be able to login as user 'root'.
Being able to login as root, will give you access to the computer, so you can trouble shooting the other account. To login as root, you may need to select 'other' and then type in 'root'
