Q: 24" LED Display with 2011 15" MPB

I have a 27" and the problem is on going.

Just saw over in the thread about the 27" flickering that it wouldn't flicker when the MBP was using its own power supply instead of the display's. I wonder if this might be a fix for the issue with the 24"?

No, I tried, and it don't works

Installed both updates.

1.4 & EFI 2.1

It's looking good girls & guys.

6 hours on the way now, so far so good.

No more flickering or blackouts.

(never had the freezes)

It's arguably more stable but the issue is still there in all it's glory. I wonder if the new iMacs suffer the same issues.

I own a 13-inch and, yes, it's still experiencing the same problems, though seemingly less frequent.

I bought my refurbished 24" ACD in January/Februray of this year direct from the Apple Store.

The 27's are having the same problems? Seriously? I was under the impression for the past month that they were free of issues with the 2011 MBPs.

New 2011 iMacs use a different Thunderboard controller chip by the way, so it wouldn't be quite apples-to-apples (no pun intended).

I'm running a 27" ACD now. I had horrible flickers with the 24". Haven't tested the 24" again since the software updates, but this thread doesn't give me huge reason to try.

I've had zero issue with the 27" - I'm using the ACD's power supply. I had it connected for a few hours before the software update was issued, so no comment on pre-update issues with the 27", but certainly none since (been on continuously for 17 hours post-update, no flickers or blackouts).

I have had problems with my 27" since the day I brought home my MBP 2011.

mjz... what kinds of problems? like the 24" problems such as flickering, black outs, etc? did the updates fix it?

S0 the 27" and 13" owners are still affected. We're essentially still back at square one. The only solution is to buy a prev gen MBP or get another display. Nice...not!

Well I just installed both updates also yesterday and my 2011 MBP / 24" ACD still does the flicker thing for the first 15 minutes of use in the day.  It seems like they can't seem to find this problem.
