Huge Issue: Project Window won't scroll while coping/moving

When you grab a project in the Project Library window to move/copy it to another drive (example, an external drive), the window doesn't scroll

So unless you can see BOTH the project you want to move AND the other drive, you can't move/copy projects in iMovie.

According to everything I've read, I really need to do moves/copies from within iMovie itself in order to maintain the references to the clips in the Event Library. Therefore this is a huge issue.

For reference, I have 80+ projects and am out of hard drive space, so I have bought an external drive and want to move some of my old projects to this external drive. But I can't given this huge issue. The only thing I could do is to move each and every one of the projects, starting with the ones in the window.

This is also a huge issue because I can't selectively make backup copies to put on this eternal drive. I can only make copies of the projects that show up in the window.

I'm using iMovie 11, with all updates for iMovie and the MacOS itself.

How do I report this issue? Are there any workarounds for it? Is there any way, we can get Apple to fix it very quickly? It's such a huge oversight.

If you can't scroll it, make a folder in iMovie put your projects in it so you can see the ones you want to move and the drives o move to.

iMovie>Feedback

P.S. My Project Library does scroll when I drag a project.

Tom,

So when you 1) select a project by clicking on it 2) hold the mouse button down and 3) move the mouse such that the project hovers with the mouse and then 4) move the mouse such that the project is below the last project or anywhere in the screen below the play buttons: The window automatically slows so that you can see additional drives in the Project Library window? If you can, then this problem appears to be localized to my machine.

Also, with your suggestion to create a folder is a good work around. Thanks for the suggestion.

It works as you describe. There is a sweet spot of get the window to scroll; it's right at the edge of the window before you get into the toolbar. Drag dragging slowly and see i it will move for you.

Ok, I now get it to work about 10% of the time if I go super slow (pixel by pixel). The same is true if I try to move a project to a folder up above.

I've never used such a finicky product from Apple. They are usually very user friendly.

This is slightly different than most applications, because though you are doing things in the iMovie interface, everything that you do in the project library is actually being done also at the finder level.

True, but given that we're seeing poor usability in the app itself, they should be able to fix that.

Do you know where I can report it? I've searched for about 10 minutes and can't even find a place to report an iMovie bug.
