My iTunes isn't opening up!

Okay, so yesterday I try to open up iTunes to restore my iPod nano. I used the desktop short cut. Because that didn't work, and now my iPod doesn't work without charging, I can't listen to any songs, play games, whatever. Any help on how to get it working?

if you downloaded a newer version of itunes then that short cut does not work anymore. you need to find itunes under programs now and you can make a new short cut. i hope this helps
