Q: Weird WB audio bug with USB audio
Hi, not sure what to make of this one.
I've been using Logic for a while and have finally gotten to the point where I've 60 minutes of music I want to record to a CD as an album so have loaded up Waveburner for the first time.
I have an Alesis Multimix 8 USB mixer which I use as the audio I/O for my Mac, never had an issue with it, however if I select that as the audio output in WB it doesn't like it and won't play (works OK using internal audio).
But what's really weird is that afterwards the sound output from my USB mixer is all distorted and noisy for all apps (Logic, iTunes etc), I can power cycle the lot and no affect, the only way to fix is to plug the USB mixer into a different USB socket (one it's not been plugged into before). I've tested this a couple of times and can no longer use 2 of the USB sockets on the back of the machine if I want clear audio (they work fine with everything else so I know they're OK).
Don't understand why WB would have a problem with my hardware when Logic is fine (would have thought they'd use the same software underneath).
And don't understand why running it can cause an issue with everything else.
Any ideas?
Logic 9 and the computer are 100% up to date and no other problems at all.
Cheers
Matthew
