Debug Print

I'm new to AppleScript and I'd like to know if it's possible to print to the the results window so I can debug my code easier. I know how to use display dialog, but I'd rather print info to the results window (or something similar) instead of a bunch of dialog boxes.

In Microsoft's VBA there is a watch window where you can see the value of a variable. Does AppleScript have anything like this?

Also, is it possible to step through a script one one line at a time?

If you have the Results or *Event Log* window selected, it will be printed instead of the script window. The log command can also be used instead of (or in addition to) a display dialog.

The *Script Editor* doesn't have a debugger (AppleScript in Xcode doesn't really have one either), so you might check out Script Debugger.
