MacBook Pro 2011 don`t accept Wlan Password

Hello,

we have several MacBooks (mod 2010) and other Notebooks in our Wlan Network.
Now we have the (mod 2011) and it don't accept our Wlan Password! The new MacBook will find all our Wlan Networks, if i type in the password it says "connection failed".
In one of our networks we have a WPA protection with numbers and letters.
In our WPA2 network we have signs like this "!", i think that's the problem. But the Mod 2010 MacBooks can all work with this signs. Wath we can do to connect the new MacBook without change the password? We have 60 Notebooks in our Network and can not change all the passwords.

I had the same issue as you described. My router was using WPA2 encryption and I was asked constantly to enter password. I searched the web and someone mentioned that Mac OS X Snow L do not work well with WPA2. After configured my router to use the WPA encryption the first issue gone. My password was accepted and I saw full wifi connection icon on the menu bar. But I am not really connected actually, my connection drop constantly but the icon always shows full connection. I can tell you this is not a router issue and not a wifi channel issue.

The ! sign usually means that you are not getting a valid IP Address. Have you configured your Router for WPA/WPA2 security ? If so, try WPA2 only security first. If that does not work, then try Open and check if your connectivity is good. What wireless mode are you using ( 11a/b/g/n ) ?
Change one setting at a time and try to find out when the issue occurs so that will help identify the issue.

The problem is, *all the MacBooks "+mod 2010+" works with this network*. *The MacBook "+Mod 2011+" is the only one that dosen't work* with this network. I think there is a problem with the wifi hardware in new MacBook 2011!

DrVenture,

Are you using a new macbook pro 2011 right now? If it is working for you what is your wifi set up? I have a mac mini 2010 and a macbook 2008 all working with the same router but not the new macbook pro 2011. It is obvious that something is wrong with macbook pro 2011's wifi hardware. My mac mini has snow 10.6.6.
See my post for detailed information about the problem.

It´s easy to understand.

All old Macs (MacBook, MacBook Pro, iMAC, MacMini) works with our wlan setup.
The new MacBook Pro 2011 find our WiFi Network too, but after type in the password the MacBook say "connection failed"

The new MacBook Pro 2011 have a big problem with wifi, i think all the new MacBooks have bad WlanCards!

I will try it today with another 15" MacBook Pro 2011.

I have two MacBook Pro 15's (2011) sitting right in front of me. One is connected with WPA2/PSK security and the other is using WPA2 ENT PEAP. I am using Cisco 1142's with a 5508 controller and I have no problem getting onto the network.

Just curious, but can you give an idea of what you PSK password looks like? Are you using special characters or something? I could try a similar password in my setup and see if it works.

You could always try to turn up AirPort debugging to see what the client thinks it is doing, as well. Open a terminal and do the following:

sudo /usr/libexec/airportd debug +alluserland +alldriver +allvendor

Recreate the issue and post the debug output (in your kernel.log) to this thread.

to turn AirPort debugging off reboot or do:

sudo /usr/libexec/airportd debug -alluserland -alldriver -allvendor

I am having the same problem, but not so sure its the 2011 MBPro. I have an MBAir, a MBPro 2006, and an MBPro 2011. Ever since I picked up my 2 MBPros after a data transfer compliments of the Apple Store, my network (TimeCapsule) password "is not recognized" on the 2006 MBPro. I'm actually on the 2011 MBPro now, and the password is accepted on the MBAir.

How do I get the 2006 MBPro working again. I am stuck with a computer that I can't even set up.
