I can't figure out how to uninstall Rosetta Stone language software. I read somewhere you can delete it but I don't see how. Is there an actual way to uninstall rather than just putting it in trash? Not sure that would work anyway.
You should contact the manufacturer and ask, that would be your best bet. If it has it's own folder in the Applications folder open it and see if there is a uninstall utility.
Thanks for your answer. There is no separate folder and the manufacturer's are the ones who said to uninstall, reinstall but they didn't have the answer either. I do appreciate your trying to answer this for me though. I could still use some help as to how one uninstalls programs on a Mac in general. Maybe that would help.
With most applications you can simply drag them to the trash and that takes care of it. Some applications will have their own uninstaller routine and some folks will use a utility (it's free just Google it) such as AppCleaner. I'd suggest AppCleaner if the manufacturer doesn't have an uninstall utility.
In general you can drag an Application from the /Applications folder to the Trash and then File/Empty trash from the top menu bar or, if supplied, use the uninstaller that came with the installer.
In some cases this does leave 'bits' lying around and so something like 'AppTrap' can be a handy utility to install as it senses the deletion and then finds these other pieces in the System and deletes them too.
You just drag the application into your Trash -- then EMPTY the trash. That's all you do. Then you reinstall all the discs.
I've had to do this everytime I've changed from one MBP to another, since the registration files get all messed up using migration wizard. That's Rosetta Stone's poor coding, not Apple...
EIther way, just drag and erase, then reinstall. It works.
