Recently i have been trying to sync my iTunes and put new music and other stuff, but a small box appears and says "The iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile device service is not started". I try to restart my laptop and iPhone 4 but it has been saying it everytime I plug it in. I would really appreciate it for helping, thanks

It would help if you told us what computer OS you use.

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is not recognized in iTunes on Windows, you may need to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service. Find instructions here, http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567

If your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or iPod nano (5th generation) is not recognized in iTunes on a Mac, you might need to remove and reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service. Find instructions here, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1747

If the OP can't be bothered to respond with basic info, why spoon-feed him?

In fairness it might be because they haven't had a chance to view the replies and respond yet I do wonder why so many people don't supply the basic details at the start though. I'm sure they don't mean to but it often seems like they assume clairvoyance :-P
