Mar 3, 2011 8:14 PM in response to Karsten Pragerby Malcolm Rayfield,ADC (Apple Display Connector) has pins for power control of the computer from the display.
USB 1.1 on some older MACs could also power on the computer.
Newer Macs use DVI (or Mini DisplayPort) and USB 2. These cannot power on the computer, so there is no way a DVI to ADC adapter can support the power on function of the display's power button. -
Mar 4, 2011 11:51 AM in response to Malcolm Rayfieldby Karsten Prager,I was hoping that since you have to plug in a USB cable from the cable's power supply to the computer as part of the setup, there was something there, but I guess not.
Thanks for the reply.
