Selling the iPad - data erase

I will sell my iPad and I will buy iPad 2.

1. I want to know how to erase my data on the old iPad but keep the apps for the new user? Is this possible?

2. Is it possible to backup the old iPad and restore this backup on the iPad 2 later? I want the same apps that I already own.

Thank you.

Hi,

A new user will not be able to update the apps already on the original iPad without your AppleID.

How to Restore as new instructions here.

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3828

"Note: If you want to keep the device in factory condition to sell or give to another person, disconnect the device when the restore is complete (when the device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen). Do not select Set Up As New or Restore from Backup. The new user can name the device and configure syncing options when they connect it to their computer."

Your apps are stored in iTunes under Library on the left of the iTunes window. When you sync the new iPad you can sync the apps then. Do not try restoring the new iPad from an old iPad backup.
