No sound on record enabled track

No sound on record enabled track

When I record enable an audio track the sound is ok, but if I push the play button then the sound on the record enabled track is muted. There is still input on the channel. If I try to record the tarck the sound is ok and even if I press the play button and then record enable the track the sound is ok. Any solutions?

I'm on logic pro 9.1.3 and I'm using RME fireface 800

iMac 3.06 GHz Intel core 2 Duo, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Prefs > Audio > Core Audio > check Software Monitoring

Hi,
You need to push the "I" button on the channel strip.
This is the "INPUT" monitoring button.
If it is yellow, you will hear the live input all the time, including when playing back without recording.
You will however no longer listen to any pre-recorded audio on that track.

Thanks for the answers.
I've found out that for some reason the "Auto input monitoring" was enabled. When I unchecked it the problem was solved. You can enable/disable it if you right click on the record button in the transport bar.
