Dear all,

A friend of mine has lost his Iphone 4 and does not have Mobile Me or Find my iphone apps installed, is there any possibility in tracking the phone & have it back?

Sorry, no. Your friend should contact his/her carrier to have the sim deactivated. Some carriers will also blacklist the phone to prevent its use. Your friend should also immediately change passwords for his/her email account/accounts and any other password ever used on the phone.
