Can I stream video from iMac to iPad?

I would like to stream video from my iMac to my iPad. For example, I would like to play a DVD in my iMac and them stream that to my iPad.

Not at present but you might want to investigate the upcoming 4.3 IOS release. I wouldn't swear to it but I think that I saw something like that.

Yes, 4.3 is described as allowing streaming of photos, audio and video via new Home Sharing features. The system uses iTunes to stream over your home WiFi to 4.3 iOS devices like 3GS and 4 iPhone, iPod Touch 4, and iPad 1 and 2.

Of course you are right. I missed the 'play' a DVD part.

If you import the DVD into iTunes, then the streaming works.
