Upgrade 2010 macbook pro isight?

So, there are newer macbook pro have facetime HD. Im extremely jealous now and I dont want to waste my money buying new macbook pro just for HD facetime. I have a question, Can we "upgrade" our existing hardware from isight to Facetime HD?

Macbook Pro 6,2, Mac OS X (10.6.5)

the only thing you could do is use an external usb cam. not sure if they would be compatible or not with the 720p res. I have a couple of the HD cams. they chew most of my cpu. the new facetime HD cams are hardware accelerated. the logitech C910 & the Creative Live HD work the best imo.

these two guys are right. 2011 MBP display/isight unit has different type of connector than 2010 models. just like iPhone 4 & iPhone 4s having the same look but internally no parts are the same. i feel you though. i'm one of those rare people that uses isight and facetime often. i travel alot for work and this been the best way to see my kids & the wife... sort of like how apple was marketing lol.

i recommend the logitech cam but not so much on creative. i've had problems w/ creative cam in the past & the logitech cam's been great for me.

especially with MBP mid 2010, i recommend getting USB Hub w/ external power option.

No way to "upgrade" the internal camera.

If you need higher def, trade Macs or add an external cam that meets your hi-def needs like one of those discussed here: http://www.mac-compatible-web-cam.com/
