iPhoto '11 crashes when clicking "Info" on any photo.

The only changes that I have made to my system since noticing the problem is creating a bootcamp partition and installing windows 7 home premium.

The problem with iPhoto '11 is this. It works fine, except when (on any picture) you select the "info" button. This immediately crashes iPhoto. It does not report a crash, it just disappears and stops running. I can restart and the same thing happens over and over. I tried reverting from timemachine and it's still doing the same thing. I restarted the computer multiple times and it's always a crash.

The other noticeable coincidence is that the Mac App store will not launch. It bounces and then nothing. I purchased iPhoto '11 from the App Store so I can't even re-install!

Please help!

As a Test:

Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'

Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

I crated a new library by holding down the "option" key (I had no idea you could even do this and it's pretty neat) but it did not fix the issue. I imported some new photos and as soon as I clicked "Info" iPhoto vanished.

I am having the same issue..well sort of. While I am in iPhoto and within a matter of 5 minutes when I am clicking on a photo or double clicking my whole mac freezes & can not force quit anything..iPhoto is the ONLY application I use that does this. I have the latest version of ilife.

I finally found a solution to this problem!

And, I think this will solve the problem of iPhoto crashing a few seconds after starting too, for some people at least.

To stop the iPhoto crashes, get your computer off the internet. I.e., turn off Wi-Fi and/or unplug your network cable.

Now when you start iPhoto, it won't crash, but it will complain that it can't lookup places. Oh well. So Apple can't spy on our whereabouts.

5 year old thread. Are you sure it even refers to the same version of iPhoto and the OS? If you're on 9.4.3 on 10.8 then you can find a more permanent solution in lots of threads on the forum.

So Apple can't spy on our whereabouts.

Why would Apple care where you are?
