iTunes 10.2 - "Your iTunes library does not contain any songs with artwork"

I upgrade from iTunes 10.1 to 10.2. Now iTunes Screen Saver displays "Your iTunes library does not contain any songs with artwork" message. It worked great previously, now its broken. My music library is stored on an external hard drive. I've tried deleting album artwork, adding it back in, updating artwork, rebooting, removing the iTunes Screen Saver pList, and more without success. I really like the iTunes Screen Saver; anyone have a solution?

bad news guys

the issue is the Itunes library file so delete preferences or do changes to a system files will not work

2 workaround Posibles

1.If u have a Old backup of your library copy the Library to another path
open itunes Holding the key Option and choose the .itl file and add again the songs u no have

2.No Itunes Library Backup?
if u want ur screensaver with the artwork u need make anew Itunes library or wait a update for apple maybe can fix in the next release

this issue is random sometimes happends sometimes no

i hope can help with that

Just checked to see if this problem still existed with the 10.2.1 update.

I installed the update, then opened iTunes, and then closed it again. And then went to test this screensaver in prefs.

Unfortunately still no luck. Unless there is something I failed to do additionally which would trigger the library/screensaver to fix itself, as far as I know, 10.2.1 does not fix this problem yet.

I used the submit feedback to Apple link in iTunes. http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html. I am not sure if there is a seperate link for bugs though, I couldnt find one. I imagine with enough reports they will look into it. I don't think it was either brought to their attention in time (or they either didn't figure out the solution yet) by the time of 10.2.1's release, as it was very fast.

Unless (I really hope this is not the case though) that running 10.2 did something irreversible, which a hotfix could not solve. But I also doubt that too. I'm sure a iTunes update or a minor OSX update could fix it.

This is something else I noticed too: check your iTunes Library folder. The individual file icons in Finder used to have the album art as their file icon. Now, most of my items are just the standard iTunes file icon (the page with the logo and format written on it). I wonder if this has something to do with it. Oddly enough I liked the album art icons too there.

I would agree with not deleting anything. I do not believe the actual content (in this case, the album art image files or the music files with the album art tags) are corrupted or anything (otherwise we'd see problems with album art in iTunes or on your iPods as well). There is probably just some error in how they are referenced...then again Im sounding technical when Im really not.

I'm hoping that this is something that they have recognized by now. They don't post here though and say "yes we recognize the problem", it just gets addressed in a future update. It is most likely this fix (if they come up with one) will get bundled in the next minor update like a 10.2.2 or something. Hopefully! I agree I like using this screensaver too!

To be honest, a break in the iTunes screensaver makes sense. If you have been reading Apple fansites and weblogs, the next version of OSX - 10.7 Lion, changes the screensaver mode to allow you to play and pause songs by clicking on the album art while in screensaver mode. It flips over the album art, like in cover flow, and allows you to choose a song.

Im guessing Apple is trying to slowly prepare iTunes to work with this new feature, and in the process, broke the screensaver mode for the rest of us. Im sure they are working on it, but its not as quick of a fix as we would like since they are trying to move forward and not backward.

Hm, interesting theory. I have not heard about those rumors for additional 10.7 changes (they sound cool) and would make sense. It is possible that this could be a cause of it. Hopefully they can still address this issue for users of 10.6 and earlier (aka everyone right now) and still make progress with advancements for 10.7. Makes you wonder why the system broke with an iTunes update though and not a Mac OSX update.
