My FaceTime is not working?

My ipod touch ran out of battery and i didnt charge it for a while until today. i turned it on and a while later i went into facetime (to call a friend) it came up that i had to log in. i wrote in my apple ID and password and it said " Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again." im sitting right at my computer beside my internet connection so what? maybe its because its been off for a while or its just broke? PLEASE HELP

Omg instead of my first problem it now says " an error occured during activation. Try again" :@

I purchased my ipod i dubai and I activated it in italy. No facetime icon. I contacted the apple assistance and they explained that facetime is not available on ipods coming from middle east markets, even for users in different countries. I hope apple will help to overcame this problem.

The iPod serial number identifies where the iPod was officially sold and it appears that the iOS uses the country/serial number to not allows use/not show FT for those iPods sold in the prohibited countries.

After you have charged your iPod for 24 hours, reset it as explained here:

Then, restore it from your last properly working backup as explained here:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
