Ipad 2 heat issue solved?

Anyone know if the ipad 2 fixed the heat issue. On the ipad 1, if you leave it in the car and the temperature gets above a certain temperature, it shuts off until it cools below a certain temperature. Was this fixed?

That is not a real QC "issue." No consumer portable electronic device is built to withstand triple digit temps inside of a car baking in the sun. Take a look at the specs of any electronic device and it will list the max temp the device can handle on and off. Bottom line if you are going to keep your iPad or any electronic device in a hot car turn it off completely -- not just put it to sleep. Best to not keep it in a car though.

Let me get this straight. You want the safety shutoff removed so that the iPad is permanently damaged? Why?

Actually, it is a problem. Even in a relatively cool environment, direct sunlight will cause it to shut down. This may not be a problem in most applications but in a car or airplane (where I use it) it is. I have had it shut down at very inconvenient times because I had not positioned it out of sunlight. No other piece of consumer electronics that I am aware of is as sensitive as the iPad.
