Safari can download vCard file?

Apple - we're a big fan - but please explain - is it a security risk or what? If not, it would be incredibly helpful for mobile website development for our customers! We can add buttons to call, email, etc, we can email them a vcard, but why can't they choose to download a vcard in mobile Safari?
