Help My letter 'v' isn't working!!

So here is my dilemma...the letter 'v' stopped working on my keyboard. There are a few weird components to this...
- If I am to use the Apple short cuts to copy and paste something it copies and pastes what I highlight, but following that every time I press just the v the whole copy & pasted item repeats itself, again and again. the only reason it's working now is because I copied a 'v'.
- Pressing the shift key and hitting 'v' does nothing
- BUT if I go under my keyboard viewer, and I just press the little 'v' and 'V' there.
please help me figure this out! I really appreciate it!!

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.2)

It sounds like your Command key is sticking. Try using compressed air to blow out any crumbs and stuff. Press it a few times rapidly to try to free it up.

I tried that thank you, I popped off the command and v keys. even when i just press command whatever I have copied and pasted shows up too. something is messed up between the command and v key.

Hello KBAUMAN3,

I had the same issue with the v key after downloading an app called BetterSnapTool. There was a setting to use a key for a certain function. When I set the v key to do that certain function the key stopped working in other programs as well. You might want to try setting it back to normal instead of the paste function that you have it set to. As soon as I set it back to where it was before the key started working again.
