Internal Muxer Error

Hello All

I am burning some dvd's this morning, and at approximately 35% through muxing i get this "Internal Muxer Error" message and it stops. DVDSP doesn't crash, it just stops. I tried the obvious of saving, quitting, and trying again but to no avail. Not really sure what the problem could be. I did test all my work in the simulator so I don't know if that would have made a difference or not. I also burned another similar project earlier this morning, so the system seems to be ok. Any ideas? Thanks so much

i did my compressions using compressor. from what i can gather its happening in the "play all" area of the disc. however the earlier disc i burned had a play all function as well, with less videos but still similar function. also the earlier disc had the same files only less of them on it, like a shorter disc i guess is how to describe it. so the actual compressions seem to be fine.

another side note i forgot to mention, i actually reconnected the project to files that were recompressions. so i had the disc built and the client wanted lower data rates on the files, so i redid the compressions from the original QTs and just changed the names to match the old ones and moved the old ones. it seemed to reconnect just fine. it did reconnect just on the shorter disc. ideas?

Thanks for your input, X.

Would the percentage of the muxing that finishes relate to the length of the "play all" track? I am not really sure how to go about the process of elimination here...everything worked fine when I play in the simulator, so is there any way to deduce from the build log where the actual problem is?

i sort of did. i had another project i did earlier in the day that contained some (not all) of the files, and they all went fine. i'm assuming the reconnecting to new files is where the problem lies, somehow screwed up the placement in the timeline. i am going to manually replace all the files into the Track and see if i get lucky. otherwise i will make a new project that just has all the videos to play back and we'll see what happens.

i'd love a more detailed log than just telling me its not working, too bad the log just tells you theres a general issue but not what it actually is...sigh

i see your point. i tried to make a simple project and got the same error...this was just taking all the media compressions into a track and trying to have that be it. so you are suggesting that since this is the case its probably a corrupted file? i will recompress all video's in the track since there's not a clear way to determine which is the culprit. only a 20-30 min compression anyways. thanks for your help, i will post if its the final solution, thanks again!

I have had good luck building my projects and then checking them in the Mac DVD player application before I burn the disc through DSP or Toast. Whatever I see here is exactly what the burned disc looks like.

If the project cannot build and I get some sort of error I know it is usually related to media. I have never had the program tell me my project may be corrupt. Corrupt projects tend to just get slowly worse until the only way to fix it is to start over. More annoying still is that starting over always fixes it. This only happens on projects that have lots of media and scripting.

that is a good way to view it. problem was here that build wasnt happening. i kinda assume its media since in my experience with fcp a corrupt file just crashes the application upon opening, so the fact the project was open but not building makes me think its the files. i'm recompressing now and hoping for the best!
