Glass Screen, does it scratch?

Hi, I have the new unibody MacBook Pro 15" Aluminum Unibody with Glass Screen. And I was just wondering, since it's glass does that mean its as scratch-resistant as glass? (yeah it sounds funny i know)

or at least more scratch resistant that the plastic screen of old??

macbook pro, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

It is most likely made out of the same stuff that is used on the iPhone so... Yes it should be very scratch resistant... special since you don't touch you MBP screen that often... I know I don't.

I have the first generation of the unibody MBPs and my screen is still flawless (machine is about 2 years old now). Seems pretty resiliant - and being a laptop, it's closed and covered when carried, and (at least for me) I don't find myself touching it all the time like an iPhone or iPad 😉

Yes, it's as scratch resistant as ordinary window glass — which is to say, much more so than any plastic.

The glass is generally scratch resistant, however, great care should still be taken to protect your screen. If anything gets between the screen and keyboard while the macbook is closed it can scratch or even worse chip the glass. Even something as little as a granual of sand... So be sure to keep your screen and keyboard clean and consider a protective cloth between your keyboard and screen when it's closed.

We have some MBPs in the lab at work and they have a scratch or two on the glass.

I also have an iMac screen that my kids have put a scratch on.

What if I use a damp lens wipes? Will that scratch my MacBook screen? It left streaks which seemed to look like scratchs?
