Newest Version of iTunes has 2330 error

I can't install or uninstall the program without getting this error. It won't open either. Computer got an error while restoring an iPod and then switched off. The iPod is currently fine, just the iTunes has a problems.
The exact message is:
The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2330

Any solutions?

2330 error are often due to a corrupt files or other filing system problems.

Try doing a disk check;

If this doesn't fix the problem are any specific files mentioned in your error messages? It is also worth checking the the Windows Event viewer for errors at time you tried to install iTunes.
Sometimes the disk check doesn't recognise a bad file.

The disk check didn't find anything.

There are no files mentioned, it just tells me that it is a 2330 error. Windows event viewer shows only one error at the time that the error appeared in iTunes and it's says it is an: MsiInstaller error. There are a lot of Ipod service errors when I tried to re-install it and when I tried to uninstall it.

I notice you have taken XP out of your sig, could you confirm which operating system you have.

If the installer stops with no error messages, could you check in your event viewer to see if there is anything helpful there.

If there is nothing helpful there, do you have a working Apple Software update?
If so you can set it to download only via the tools menu. This will get you all the separate installers that come with iTunes and you can try running them separately to see if you get a useful error message there.
Install in this order:
Apple Application Support
Bonjour
Apple Mobile Device Support
Apple Software Update
Quicktime
iTunes

If you don't have a working Apple Software Update, there is another way.

Do you get any error message during the installs of the individual programs, this was intended as a diagnostic exercise, not a solution.

I am trying to establish where the problem occurs.
The 2330 installer error means:

+Error getting file attributes: [3]. GetLastError: [2].+

This normally means there is a problem with bad files or folders upsetting Windows.

Check in you event viewer for nay helpful error messages during the installs.
