Aperture

Just a thought....with all the problems people seem to be having with iphoto 11, would an upgrade to Aperture solve the issue?

Well it will undoubtedly sidestep the iPhoto issues, as you won't be using it. But what about the Aperture issues?

I'm very familiar with both apps. If you're a serious hobbyist or a pro, if you shoot Raw, then by all means consider Aperture.

If you're family snapper, taking pics of the kids and pals to share on Facebook with a point and shoot or a phone, then Aperture is serious overkill and iPhoto is the better app for the job.

Thanks Terry.
I have 22,000 photos in iphotos at the moment....mainly holidays and as you know, I have had problems with iphoto11... namely freezing up. I have taken my mac back to the shop twice now and on the second visit the Genius wiped my hard drive and reinstalled everything including iphoto11, so I am hoping that all will be ok now. It was only done yesterday so will have to wait and see what happens.
I was just wondering if Aperture would be a "Safer" bet. What sort of issues are there with Aperture?
Kind regards
Billy
