I was originally using this on the day the GM was released to developers, I used it for a few hours that day and after that it has not worked. I have tried on different wifi networks and tried removing all the settings for it on both my iPad and MBP and restarting the process and it still does not work. I get the message "Cannot connect to media library". I was really excited for this because now my 16GB iPad is more useful anywhere on campus instead of just in vicinity of my MBP.
I have also tried reinstalling iTunes and the iPad firmware, nothing seems to change. Turned off firewall settings and that did not change anything either.
Anyone else running into this problem?
16MHz Mac LCII, Mac Clones, 1.8Ghz iMac G5, MBP 2.53Ghz Late 2008, iPad 3G,
Mac OS X (10.6.6),
Mac Developer
Okay I had the same problem-iphone 4 could not connect to shared library. I restarted my iphone, because it had not been restarted since the 4.3 update, and it now works perfectly. Give it a shot!
Any word? I've tried everything from restarts to restores. Totally not the iPad tho bc I am able to connect to a windows machine running xp no problem.
Primary laptop: mb pro 13'" early 2011, i7 (no more than a week old for me). will not allow homeshare with iPad
Secondary: Dell mini xp- easy peasy homeshare set up and go, no issue with iPad and sharing.
DeAuthorized all machines from iTunes
Turned off Home Sharing iMac / PC / iPad
Deleted Library files from iMac / PC (exported playlists first!)
Rebooted / Turned off firewall
Re-Authorized all machines
Opened iTunes on iPad
Result:
Bubkiss.
Please, good folks @ Appl...we need a one-shot utility to clear the path to make this work.
