iPhone isnt recognized by my computer?

My computer (windows 7) randomly stopped recognizing my 3G, and is asking me if i want to restore from a backup (the last backup I made was in December...) or set it up as a new iphone. I want to save everything I have put on there since December, is there a way I can fix this?

HP Pavilion dv6700, Windows 7

You computer is recognizing your iPhone, thus the request to restore. Your problem is you haven't backed it up regularly.

Try resetting your iPhone by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

If this doesn't work, you'll probably have to restore it as new or with your backup.

Also, Google for Touchcopy. You may be able to move some things off your iPhone.
